Accomplishments

DCS FY 2022-2023 Accomplishments:

 

NOTE: Our Thrift Shop closed permanently on 12/31/22 following the sale of the building.  Please direct your clothing and furniture donations to other area non-profits like Goodwill and St. Vincent de Paul

Thrift Shop:

● 395 families donated goods to DCS

● 1,598 underserved community members came through our Thrift Shop to choose clothing, shoes, towels, blankets, dishes, and other household items at no cost to them

● 100+ bags of mainly used clothing items were donated to other charities, as they did not meet our gently used standards or were in excess of what we could display in the shop

 

Donations:

● 1506 articles of clothes were delivered

● A total of $4,800 donated to four adopted families

● 7 bikes donated

● 3 children Pack n' Play playpens donated

DCS Service Project Accomplishments:

 

Chromebook Program:

● 100 Chromebook computers were given to mostly middle school students

 

Backpack Program:

● 102 backpacks were given to school students

 

Back to School Dress Program:

● 30 custom made reversible jumpers were sewn and donated to primary school-age girls

 

Thanksgiving Program:

● 120 FoodMaxx Gift Cards were distributed to the community

 

 

Christmas Food Bag Program, sponsored by Summerset:

● 240 bags of non-perishable food were given to 120 local families selected by DCS

 

Christmas Toy Program, sponsored by Discovery Bay Boat Club:

● Over 400 toys were donated as Christmas presents
